Nashville Attorney - Daniel W. Olivas aka My Big Bro
Nashville, Tennessee is also where my brother practices law. Mr. Daniel W. Olivas -- my fast talking, witty and genuis IQ'd older brother -- is an associate with Lewis, King, Krieg & Waldrop. They do insurance defense law and as a matter of course perform lots and lots of depositions. As fortunate as that sounds ... me being a court reporter ... him being an attorney doing lots of depos ... 1 + 1 = 2, etc... The fact of the matter is that ethical standards dictate I cannot be the court reporter on any of his cases. Makes sense, don't you think? Put yourself in opposing counsel's shoes. Would you want the neutral, third party court reporter to be the natural flesh and blood relative of the opposing attorney? I think not!

Nonetheless, if I were an insurance company or a large employer I would definitely want my brother on my team. He's one of the smartest people I've ever met. (Which reminds me, I need to pull together my list of The Smartest People I've Ever Met. He'd be on that list for sure! Along with Steve, Christine, Tim and Don..)
