Court Reporting Industry Stakeholders meet to discuss Dynamex

This past weekend I flew to Sacramento, CA in order to attend an informational forum hosted by the California Court Reporters Association (CCRA). I was impressed by the speaker Kimberly Lucia, an attorney with Boutin Jones who is author of CCRA's just released Dynamex opinion.

Right from the outset I learned that the proper pronunciation of Dynamex is not pronounced [dyna -mex] but rather [di - nam- ics] similar to the word 'dynamics'. I stand corrected. There's a lot more to digest here but suffice to say right now in this short blog post that this industry is waking up to the fact that the Dynamex ruling and specifically its ABC test are greatly concerning to the court reporting industry. It's likely that this is only the beginning of these types of meetings as the full effects ripple through California.
