Court Reporting Tool Slasher Updated

Dear Todd, I came upon your slashing text tool recently and think it's great. I'm sharing it with other instructors here at the Maryland Community College System Court Training Program. It works great! Just last week, I was assigned to teach high-speed (160-225) classes. I usually mark my tests in 15 second increments. Your slashing tool only goes up to slashes for 30 words (120 wpm). Could you modify your program for 35, 40, 45, 50, and 56 words to use for 140, 160, 180, 200, and 225 tests? Thanks a bunch!

- J.K. from Maryland

Hi, J.K.

I am so glad you are getting some use out of my Slasher tool.  Your suggestion was great so I had it implemented as you requested.  Please check it out now and let me know if it’s working the way you suggested.  Thanks again!

Todd

I am an instructor in Sacramento, California. The Slasher has saved me so much time for many, many years.....thank you for continuing to offer this to us.

The slasher is a wonderful tool and inspired me to seek help and write my own similar tool. There was a problem in both of our tools where it counts the Q and A as a word, which can significantly reduce the word count. On a 240 of mine, I guesstimate it reduced the wpm to 220.<br><br>I`m modifying my tool to ignore Q., A., COURT:, and the WITNESS: as words. If you do the same, it may improve the timing on Q&A. <br><br>I do not know if you do the coding yourself or have someone code it, but I am also happy to share how I do it in Python 3 so that it may be modified to whatever code your website uses.<br><br>Thank you for the work you have done. Thank you for considering my words.

Hi, Christopher! Thanks for the feedback. Your idea of ignoring the Qs and As is awesome. Is your slasher tool going to be free for public use? If so, I`d love to share the URL, if that`s okay with you.
